Oak Ridges Trail at King Campus

TIMING:  Saturday, June 19, 10:00 am

DESCRIPTION:

Starting at Eaton Hall (built for Sir John and Lady Flora Eaton in 1930s), we will walk west following a woodsy section of the Oak Ridges Trail. Along the way we will pass Mary Lake (a kettle lake formed at end of Ice Age), a magnificent brick barn now owned by the Augustinian Monastery, and the former 1920s farm of Sir Henry Pellatt (who had Casa Loma built as his Toronto home).

At the half way point we can stop at the Pine Farms Orchards store where you can buy refreshments or eat your bag lunch, before returning to our vehicles.

Distance approx. 12 km (4 hours).

Bring water & sunscreen.

LOCATION:

Meet at Eaton Hall parking lot on King Campus of  Seneca College (enter campus from the west side of Dufferin Street a short distance north of King Road, and follow signs to Eaton Hall)
