Walk the Wild Trails at Jackman Forest (N of Kleinburg)

March 4/17 (Saturday) at 9:30 am. (1.5 – 2 hrs)

Join us for a morning hike on the Hal Jackman property north of Kleinburg.

A vigorous wilderness hike is planned on nice trails with several suspension bridges spanning the East Humber River, through beautiful older growth forests & valley vistas.

Hike should take at least 90 minutes and be quite strenuous with a lot of elevation changes…good footwear is a must, and dress for the weather.

A great walk for the entire family, and well-behaved dogs are welcomed too.

Note re trail conditions:

  • Depending on future temperatures, specialized footwear might be advisable.
  • If higher temps arrive in March with some daytime melting, existing snow could be frozen overnight to produce a crusty, even icy surface that is best hiked with “icers” or crampons strapped to boots.

Hike Leader:

Ian Gray has been leading entertaining hikes in the Humber River Valley for many years.

  • From Kleinburg, travel  north a few minutes to King-Vaughan Line.
  • Turn east (right) and go 2.1 kms  to start of hike.
  • Park vehicle in designated area beside the road, and hike will start to the north.
