Cold Creek Conservation Area Hike
(NW of Kleinburg)
Sat. Feb. 17, 2018, 9:30 am (1.5 – 2 hr), 6 km hike
NOTE: RE TRAIL CONDITIONS
Trail conditions are not conducive to either cross country skiing or snowshoeing.
As of the afternoon before the hike, the trail is a mix of hard packed snow and ice. Approximately 80% of the trail is good (snow base) conditions, with approximately 20% ice covered. There are a few spots where the ice base creates some challenging inclines and declines.
Icers/crampons and/or poles are STRONGLY SUGGESTED.
Scenic trails through forests & open meadows with gentle slopes provide a great opportunity for fresh air and enjoyment of nature. We’ll hike for 1.5 to 2 hours but you are welcome to stay longer.
Cold Creek has over 6 km of snowshoeing trails and 8km of groomed cross-country ski trails – when conditions are good. Unfortunately, conditions are not good for February 17
