Winter is a favourite time to hike for many, and Roland Gatti, your hike leader, says it best:

โ€œThereโ€™s something about the cold that makes nature feel more alive, alert, and perfect!โ€

Join us for an early winter hike through one of the most rugged and remote sections of the Humber watershed. This hike takes place along the Bruce Trail north of Mono Mills, near the northwest headwaters of the Main Humber Riverโ€”about 30 km northwest of Kleinburg.

Expect hilly, uneven, and at times strenuous terrain, with beautiful views of upland forests, rocky ridges, and frosty ravines. Itโ€™s a physically rewarding hike in a rarely visited corner of the watershed, ideal for those looking to kickstart their winter hiking season.

What to Bring:

โœ”๏ธ Winter boots or insulated hiking boots
โœ”๏ธ Water and a high-energy snack
โœ”๏ธ Dress in warm layers, including hat and gloves
โœ”๏ธ Hiking poles (optional but helpful on hills)
๐Ÿšซ Please note: There are no washroom facilities on this hike.

Cold weather hiking is also great for cardiovascular health and burns more caloriesโ€”so come prepared to feel energized and invigorated!
