Early March along the Humber River is a time of transition, as winter ice begins to loosen and the river resumes its spring flow. On this hike, weβll follow sections of the Humber near Bolton, observing open water, lingering ice, and changing riverbanks as the season shifts from winter toward spring.
The route offers a mix of riverside trail and wooded stretches, with opportunities to reflect on how natural forces β including ice movement and spring runoff β continue to shape the Humber Valley. Trail conditions are typical for this time of year and may include a mix of packed snow, ice, mud, and open ground.
π This is a loop hike, starting and ending at the Dicks Dam parking area.
